The Last Best version of the classic celebration drink using Fortunella gin and Saskatoon berry syrup

 

GLASSWARE: Flute

 

INGREDIENTS:

1 oz Fortunella Gin
3 oz Prosecco
0.5 oz Lemon Juice
0.5 oz Saskatoon Berry Syrup

 

For the Saskatoon Berry Syrup:

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 cup frozen Saskatoon berries

 

GARNISH: Lemon Twist

PROCESS

1. Combine gin, lemon juice, and Saskatoon berry syrup into a shaker with ice. Shake for 10 seconds.
2. Double strain into a flute
3. Top with prosecco
4. Garnish with a lemon twist

Saskatoon Berry Syrup:
1. Combine water and sugar in a sauce pan
2. Add Saskatoon berries and bring to a boil
3. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer and cook just until the fruit begins to break down
4. Remove from the heat and allow the syrup to cool
5. Once fully cooled, strain out fruit using a fine mesh strainer
6. Store in a covered container in the fridge
